Features of alumina and electrolytic aluminum:

1. Alumina: a white solid hardly soluble in water, odorless, tasteless, extremely hard, easy to absorb moisture but not deliquescent (non-hygroscopic after burning). Alumina is a typical amphoteric oxide. (Corundum is alpha-shaped and belongs to the hexagonal most densely packed. It is an inert compound. It is insoluble in acid and alkali and corrosion resistant. It can be dissolved in inorganic acids and alkaline solutions. It is almost insoluble in water and non-polar. Organic solvent; relative density (d204) 4.0; melting point 2050°C.

2. Electrolytic aluminum is an enterprise with high energy consumption and high pollution, and its production process is relatively complicated.

3. Manufacturing process:

1. Alumina (aluminium oxide), chemical formula Al2O3. Alumina is extracted from ore. It is a high-hardness compound with a melting point of 2054°C and a boiling point of 2980°C. It is an ionic crystal that can be ionized at high temperatures and is often used to make refractory materials.

2. Electrolytic aluminum uses alumina as the solute, carbon body as the anode, and aluminum liquid as the cathode. After a strong direct current is applied, the electrochemical reaction is carried out on the two poles in the electrolytic cell at 950℃-970℃.
